Sleep Disordered Breathing in Heart Failure

The selected abstracts below outline several recent studies in sleep disordered breathing in heart failure patients. These studies reveal that the prevalence of this disorder is high, and that the prognosis of heart failure patients with sleep disordered breathing compared to patients without this disorder is significantly worse. Small treatment trials have shown promise that treatment can make a significant improvement in prognosis. Many of these investigators are continuing their work, and several larger treatment trials are in process.
